A really special mix of japanese-inspired mediterranean dishes of all sorts.
To be honest I would just let the staff recommendations make your menu!
The “escórpora” is a must try though.
Awesome food, must-try Japanese-style bar in Barcelona! Visited the restaurant with not really high expectations and I was definitely overwhelmed. The meats were fresh and great and the dishes were delicious as well. We ordered a yakitori and shrimp tartare on the side and oh god, this is probably the best tarte I have ever tried.
On top of the food, the service was comfortable and nice.
Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a great bar with ur friends!
Lovely food; quality, creativity and most importantly flavour were all perfect.
Pictured is the smoked tempura aubergine drizzled with honey & grated lime zest… very tasty!
Vermouth, sake & Yuzu cocktail was super refreshing & strong 💪
Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly & helpful staff!
Really enjoyed the Kamikaze experience
Gracias 🙏
Kamikaze is proof that an idea doesn’t always meet expectations ( at least mine) in its execution. I know the idea is a “ fusion experience”. For example naming something “ shabu shabu” doesn’t mean it’s going to appear as it should in a traditional Japanese style, which is a hot broth into which we stir raw beef with vegetables. The Kamikaze take on Shabu Shabu was a thin slice of wagyu beef with a small amount of mushroom confit, to be rolled in itself by the customer and dipped into a cold, anodyne jus. Although the combination of ingredients look good on paper, it just didn’t click for me. The aubergine was more batter than aubergine although the smoked effect at the table was an interesting touch. The highlight for me was the sting ray, the sauce being a perfect combination with the seaweed bread for mopping up! The service was friendly enough. The decor was pretty basic, which is true to the idea of a “ taberna” I guess. On a hot summer evening ( 30 degrees at 8.30pm), we sat at the rear of the restaurant, just under the aircon unit and it was fine. The front section of the restaurant was practically without any aircon at all, however. As a summary, I felt that the raw material was acceptable, the fusion points at times detracted from the purity and subtle nature of Japanese food ( eg; too much butter sauce on the rock fish) and so I was left a little disappointed. It’s possible that my old school prejudices developed over 30 years of all things Japan have colored my views. Fusion attempts must be difficult to execute and that’s how I felt about Kamikaze: it left me feeling halfway between an idea and “what could have been”.. We paid around €50 / person without alcohol.
Great experience! Very good food and excellent service
A great place for a european/asian fusion meal. All dishes all delicious and well thought out in terms of texture and flavour balancing between sweet and savoury.
Definitely recommend
Top place, tasteful food prepared with care and extra friendly staff. I added it to my agenda of favourites.
Very original Japanese taberna (izakaya), with Japanese fusion dishes, original and very tasty. Service by waiters and owner spectacular. Congratulations!
